Projects

Well, I decided to pull out that cable scarf I was working on and try it again. I should have tried practicing Continental Knitting with something simplier so that when I tried the cable it would be neater. That's ok. I suppose I don't mind too much. Although when I have pulled out my projects in the past (to start over) they were never quite as complicated as this. So I must admit it did hurt a little more this time.
I decided to try a new stitch called "moss stitch." It's alternating Knit 1 and Purl 1. So you knit the purl stitches and purl the knit stitches. I am quite familiar with the knit and purl stitch so telling them apart is easy enough. Although it's taken me a while to do so. The video tutorial I watched suggested I cast-on an odd number of stitches onto my needle and just remember knit, purl, knit purl. It works!! I don't have a picture of it yet, but so far so good :) I'm liking the idea of using this stitch for a scarf, but I'm trying to find other ways that I can use it. I think it would be a fun boarder or cuff on a sweater. Or it might be a fun cuff on mits or gloves. I'm not sure though. I think it might also make a good hat brim.
When I finish it I will post a picture. And I will be once again posting progress pictures on my cable scarf (when I start it again).
I'm running out of yarn I enjoy....and people to give my projects too. I'm sort of toying with the idea of setting up an Etsy shop, but there are already SO many knitters out there selling their projects that I'm not sure my works measure up. So who knows. If you want something made (on the small side) all you have to do is buy the yarn and let me know. Or we can go together and get the yarn....I'd buy yarn for everyone, but I'm not quite at that place in my life yet.
I've been looking at a lot of sweater/cardigan patterns and trying to pick one I like...but also one that doesn't scare me lol! Eeee :) Is it Christmas yet??

My little sister works at the Wool Station in Bellingham. She's knitted forever, but since she started there... whew - you should SEE the things she makes. She has numerous sweaters, plus of course plenty of hats and gloves and scarves... a HUGE blanket for dad last Christmas... it's amazing! She is SERIOUSLY a rock star.

All that to say - good job on the knitting!
